OPINION: Kasey Adler — accountable leadership

I have known Kasey Adler for almost 25 years. He and I went to high school together, played baseball together, coached basketball together and we each are now parents of LO elementary school boys. I have seen Kasey in many, many settings. In school, he was bright and curious with a great work ethic. As an athlete he excelled both as a leader and as an outstanding team player. The quality I most admired about him in all these settings is that he first holds himself accountable. Then his expectations are high for others, after his own accountability is established. He leads, and others follow.
Kasey’s commitment to helping kids was obvious earlier in his life. For him and every kid he coached, he was full of energy, patience and knowledge, and delighted in helping them improve in their game while having fun. Now as he runs for school board, he is putting a quality education for all at the forefront of his adult priorities.
Taxpaying parents of LO students rightly have high expectations for great outcomes from our school district. Kasey Adler’s business background, his skills as a coach and his deep roots in this community all combine to bring out the absolute best in all our children. In these challenging financial times, Kasey is the well-rounded person to work with us all and face the challenges with high integrity and good ideas.
