Join cultural celebration in Lake Oswego

The city of Lake Oswego welcomes the community to attend the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander Heritage Month celebration from 12-3 p.m. Sunday, May 18 at Millennium Plaza Park. Vendor booths will be available from 12-1 p.m. and speeches and musical performances will follow.

“This special event will honor the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of AANHPI communities through dance and martial arts performances, traditional food, local artists, henna and community/nonprofit booths,” the city website reads.

Rep. Daniel Nguyen, D-Lake Oswego, and Lake Oswego School District belonging coordinator Connie Harrell will be among the speakers. There will be performances from the Portland Chinese Dance Troupe, World Champion Taekwondo, the White Lotus Foundation and others.

Some vendors include: Chinese Friendship Association of Portland, Bubble Bubble Tea, Oregon Department of Justice — Civil Rights Unit, LO for LOve, Respond to Racism, Amza Superfoods, HK Cafe and Ceramics by EC.
