What started out as an anniversary party for the Lake View Village has morphed into a celebration of the Best of Lake Oswego. The first-ever event will take place on Wednesday evening, starting at 5 p.m.
A large tent at Millennium Plaza Park will serve as the focal point for the event. There will be a food pavilion with samples provided by many of the downtown restaurants. There will also be a performance by the Lake Oswego Academy of Dance, the Gallery Without Walls exhibit and speakers.
But organizers hope that attendees will take their time downtown and visit all of the local stores in Lake View Village as well as the First Street boutiques and the A Street Station.
Many of these individual stores will be having individual events and promotions within their premises.
“We want people to wander and be explorers to see what everyone has to offer,” said Debbie Naone of Gramor Development, one of the sponsors of the event, along with Lake View Village, the Lake Oswego Review and Lamb’s Palisades Thriftway.
Lake Oswego and Lakeridge sports will also be honored as the community will have an opportunity to congratulate the Laker football team and Pacer boys soccer and lacrosse teams.
